UNIVERSITY  OF  KELANIYA



                          University of Kelaniya situated in Dalugama. It started in 1875 by Ratmalane Dharmaloka Thera. The university of Kelaniya was one of the first universities to beign teaching science in sinhala and the first to restructure the traditional Arts faculty into three faculties. They are Humanities,Social Science and Commerce and Management.

                           Medicine
                          Commerce and Management studies
                          Graduate studies
                          Computing and Technology.


                                          Science faculty


      The Science faculty started in 1967 by Prof. Charles Dahanayake.There is a Science faculty in left side when we come through the Kelani kanda.First we can see main science faculty building.Then we pass the main ground and we can see IT lab.After that we can find Dharmaloka hall in left side. If we pass that Darmaloka hall,then we can notice Science Auditorium.



     There are 08 departments in Science faculty.They are,

Social Science and Huminities faculty


This is the largest faculty in university of Kelaniya. We can learn  Buddhist and Asian cultures, Pali and Buddhist studies and many languages in this faculty.

BCOM degree is unique for this faculty.there are some 3 year and 4 year degrees in this faculty.Commerce department provides special degree in Financial Management,Business technology ,Entrepreneurship and Commerce . 

Library


The library of universuty Kelaniya is a collection of sources of information and similar resourses make accessible to a define community for reference or borrowing.There are thousands of books can use for students to improve their knowledge.  Also students can manipulation E books from this library.It is situated in near the Examination branch.



Medical centre


There is a medical centre in university of Kelaniya. It conducted by tallented and profetional doctors in Srilanka. If students faced a any physical problem ,medical centre will help him.Also every student must give their personal physical details to medical centre before he/she enter the university.There are many doctors and other staff try to do their best to heal every person.If they cannot do it in here,they will send that person in a  nearest hospital.So medical centre is a important place in UOK.

Normally I do not get selfies. Because, I do not like take photos. Why I feel like that.I recognize it this PPD session. Can you guess how I recognize it from PPD session.                                           Self Expertise Every human has a expertise of at least one field.Someone has several expertise in several areas.I am expert of watching television. I can watch any type of movies like horror,comedy, Sinhala , Tamil, English.  We were separated for four groups and there were five and six members for each group.Then we have to introduce a product that combine three expertise areas in one group.Our team decided to combine hand made things,reading and ridding motor bikes.We introduced a eye glass cover.But it was not really a good combination of those three expertise areas. Last PPD session Sarasi madam demonstrated us how to write a CV. First we should know why we want a CV. CV is represent our works and qualifications. We are in competitive world. So everyone try to pass others. So CV is a main tool use for compete with others. If it is a good CV then we may get opportunity. Therefore CV is a main bullet point of our profession. First we must introduce our selves. That means we must include our name, address, available contact number and our photo. There are some important points when we include a photo. If you do not like to insert a photo to CV it is not a big deal. But if you add one it can represent your personality before you meet. Also we have to choose correct type of photo.
